In our spirit of positivity, who’s as happy as I am about summer officially beginning this month!? While fall is my favorite season, summer is closing in on its heels year by year. Sun, warm weather, garden-fresh produce, cuter clothes and sandals—so much to love!
On humid days, I have a favorite thirst quencher that I really got into last summer: coconut water. It’s refreshing, cooling, and so naturally sweet that it passes for a treat in my opinion. Problem is, coconut water doesn’t come cheap.
I’m too lazy to hack open a young raw Thai coconut myself, so I resort to purchasing bottled high quality coconut water from time to time. By “high quality” I mean 100% raw, organic, unheated, unaltered coconut water with no added flavorings or fillers. Just the pure, hydrating, delicious coconut water.
This kind of coconut water is not inexpensive, so that’s why it’s a treat and not something I pick up every week. That said, even when I do splurge on a few bottles, I still try to “stretch” them if I can over the course of two or three servings instead of just downing the bottle all at once (which is so easy to do!).
My favorite coconut water that I’ve tried so far is Harmless Harvest. I love the quality and purity of their product. And they’re not even paying me to say that. I really do love it!
To stretch my coconut water across a few days, I often will take it in “shots” instead of drinking it all at once. Coconut shots are little sips of hydration that pack a ton of electrolytes into just one little glass. I punch up the flavor a little by adding a squeeze of lime juice. In the middle of a busy day when I need a pick-me-up or after a hot walk outside, a coconut shot is just the ticket for giving me the hydration boost that I crave…without breaking the bank.
I don’t drink alcohol, but I certainly have no desire to when something as refreshing and thirst-quenching as these shots exists!
