Do You Want Dessert Freedom?

Food allergies and desserts just don’t seem to mix, do they? There’s nothing worse than craving a sweet treat, heading into the kitchen, and finding yourself completely at a loss as to what to make.

I tried to help you out in the cookie department with Super Healthy Cookies…but I really don’t think there’s such a thing as too many dessert recipes. That’s why I’m excited to share about a new resource with you today: Dessert Freedom, a brand new e-book by the very talented Leanne at Healthful Pursuit!

I’ve been following Leanne’s blog for years and love her fresh, creative, energetic approach to cooking. When she generously sent me a copy of Dessert Freedom to review, I couldn’t pull myself away from the computer. I wanted to make everything!

So how was I to decide what to make first from the e-book? It was tough, believe me. In the end, I decided to go back to my cookie-loving roots and give Leanne’s No-Bake Snickerdoodles a whirl.

True to my food-loving nature, I took a few liberties with the recipe and add in chopped dried cranberries and cacao nibs for a little variation. I loved the no-bake cookies both ways, both plain and with the add-ins. It was such a simple recipe to throw together, but the flavor was right on point. They really did taste like snickerdoodles! These cookies are the perfect solution to a sweet treat when you don’t feel like cranking on the oven and dirtying a bunch of dishes.

I can’t decide what to make next. I think I’ll try the Strawberry Chia Squares, or maybe the Fruit & Nut Biscotti. Although Leanne told me that the Coconut Joy Squares were one of her favorites…so that one is high on the list, too!

  2. YAY! I just went and ordered it and am on my way to check my e-mail and read straight through it! Is there anything more exciting than readying a new cookbook? Oh and my most favorite, easy Paleo treat that I make are Leanne’s Double Down Chocolate Power Muffins!
