Announcing A Gluten-Free Holiday 2011!

October 24, 2011 by HallieK

Last year in November and December, I sat back and enjoyed every week of A Gluten-Free Holiday hosted by Amy at Simply Sugar & Gluten-Free along with many other great allergen-friendly blogs. But this year, I’m so thrilled to be a host myself!

It’s the second year of celebrating the holiday season totally gluten-free.

–

How?

With a weekly themed link-up event and fabulous cookbook give-aways!

–

Why?

The holidays are stressful enough without worrying whether your gluten-free pie crust or your Apple Spice Cake will turn out. We want to make this season as easy as possible by sharing our favorite kitchen tested gluten-free recipes.

–

We?

Yes, we. Me and 5 other fantastic gluten-free bloggers.

And of course, you!  If you weren’t there it just wouldn’t be a holiday celebration.

–

Here’s the scoop….

On Thursdays in November and December, a different gluten-free blogger will host a link-up event where you can share your best gluten-free holiday dishes and browse for recipes to add to your menu.

Every week we’ll have a give-away, too. You can link up or leave a comment to enter.

–

Dates & Themes:

November 3rd – Healthier Through The Holidays at Simply Sugar & Gluten-Free

With cookies and rich meals all around during the holiday season, it’s smart to think about how to stay healthy. Bring your favorite healthier dish to SS&GF. Or, share your secrets for maintaining your sanity and health during the holiday hustle and bustle.

November 10th – Thanksgiving Favorites at Cook It Allergy Free

Share your favorite gluten-free Thanksgiving dish from appetizers to desserts at Kim’s lovely blog. We want to see your stuffing, turkey dishes, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, cranberry jelly…anything Thanksgiving goes. (To our Canadian friends – please share your Thanksgiving dishes, too!  We know you celebrated earlier than the US!)

November 17th – Edible Gifts at Taste at Tasty Eats at Home

There’s nothing that says love like a gift from the kitchen. Share your top tips for making treats to give, along with how you package them, too. I’m super excited about this week, as I can tap into my crafty side!

December 1nd – Holiday Entrees & Sides  Dishes at Daily Bites

Bring your family’s favorite entrees and sides for Christmas and Hanukkah. We want to see the savory dishes your family loves the most. Or, experiment with a new recipe and bring it right here to Daily Bites! (Of course, I’ll have some recipes to share with you on that day, too, in case you just need some inspiration.)

December 8th – Holiday Breakfast & Brunch at Diet, Dessert, and Dogs

Ricki at Diet, Dessert, and Dogs never fails to amaze me with her creative and nutritious breakfast ideas. You won’t want to miss this week of the event! Share your healthy breakfast and brunch recipes and help someone else find the perfect dish for their holiday morning meal.

December 15th – Holiday Desserts at She Let Them Eat Cake

Just like it sounds – bring Maggie your favorite gluten-free dessert for all to share.  Cookies, pies, truffles, cakes, and candies….we want to try them all!

–

What now?

Get out your recipe box and cookbooks.  Start browsing…then get in the kitchen and start cooking for the best ever gluten-free holiday! Remember, it all starts Thursday (Nov. 3) at Simply Sugar & Gluten-Free.

Can’t wait to start celebrating with you!
