I have huge, exciting news to share with you today: I’m writing a cookbook!
I’m beyond thrilled to finally let you in on the news. The truth is, I’ve been working on the book for months. Late last summer, I began batting around the idea of writing and publishing my first cookbook. In January of this year, I decided to give it a go. It was time. I felt more motivated and eager about this project than I had about anything in a long time.
All through the winter and spring, I held back from sharing about my cookbook except to a few select people and recipe testers. In all honesty, I wanted to be sure before I spread the news that this book would actually take shape and that I was capable of tackling such a challenging project. But with just a few weeks left of final recipe tests and edits, I’m entirely sure that this book is happening!
Sometimes I can’t even believe it myself. A few years ago, I was sick, emotionally weak, and unhappy. As I began to reclaim my health through eating well and purifying my lifestyle, I found a new passion: food. I hesitantly started writing a food blog in June of 2009, convinced that no one would read it. Now, just two years later, I’m healthier, happier, and more fulfilled than ever before. Through blogging, I discovered a welcoming community of home cooks and food-lovers just like me who are passionate about eating well and living life to the fullest.
With the publication of my book, I feel as though I’m opening a new chapter in my life. I have big ideas in the works that will compliment the recipes and content of my book, which I’ll be sharing more about in the coming weeks.
As for an approximate release date, I’m shooting for later this summer or early fall. Now that I’ve spilled the beans, I’ll be sure to update you along the way as details get set in place.
All of the recipes in my book will be free of gluten, dairy, and refined sugar, placing the emphasis on whole, natural foods. You’ll be inspired to eat well with:
- Flavorful recipes for Energizing Breakfasts, Nourishing Nibbles, Savory Soups & Stews, Wholesome Baked Goods, Vibrant Salads & Sides, and Satisfying Sweets & Treats.
- A complete guide to reading labels, stocking your kitchen, and planning meals.
- Tips for charming the palates of picky eaters.
- Practical information to help ease your transition to a pure, whole foods diet.
I’m confident that the recipes in the book will appeal to both children and adults alike. Many of the recipes will also be vegan, egg-free, or nut-free. Of the 100 recipes in the book, 90 of them are brand new. The other 10 are updated favorites from this site. Here’s a sneak peek at the recipes you’ll find inside:
- Buckwheat & Olive Oil Flatbread
- Whole Grain Applesauce Pancakes
- Salmon Salad Collard Roll-Ups
- Curried Turkey Noodle Soup
- Creamy Kale Salad
- Morrocan Millet & Butternut Squash Pilaf
- Slow Cooker Indian Chicken with Quinoa
- Parsnip-Topped Skillet Pie
- Brownie-Crusted Fruit Pizza
- Banana Coconut Cupcakes
- Thick & Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies
I have so many people to thank for helping me with this project, but without the support and encouragement of the people who read this blog and others in the blogging community, I know I would not be writing this post right now. So I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. If my book can be half as inspirational to its readers as you’ve been to me, that’s all I can ask for.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!
